Srinagar, Oct 23(KNS): Afghanistan with a fierce display of batting thrashed Pakistan with 8 wicket in ICC Cricket World Cup match in MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

While chasing Target of 282 set by Green Shirts, Afghan Altan managed to score the mark with 6 balls left and only two wickets down. From Pakistan's side Shaheen Afridi and Hassan Ali managed to have breakthroughs.

Hashmatullah Shahidi-led side is known for their sharp bowling, especially spin, but today the team displayed the quality of batting on the slow pitch of Chennai and punished Pakistan bowlers like never before.
