emphasizes administration to ensure snow clearance, other basic necessities to people in Kashmir

Srinagar. Jan 7:(KNS) The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) General Secretary Surinder Singh Channi today lashed out at administration for failing deal with the heavy snowfall, besides ensuring snow clearance from main and interiors in entire Kashmir.

In a statement to KNS, reads JKPCC General Secretary urged the LG administration to supervise the work being undertaken on the ground, which is not satisfactory, as far as the common people are concerned.

Expressing deep concern over the miserable conditions of villagers and those living in town in Tral area of district Pulwama and elsewhere in South Kashmir, besides Srinagar district due to failures of the administration on account of road clearance and other immediate necessities, JKPCC General Secretary Surinder Singh Channi hit out at the administration for failing to ensure immediate road clearance, which is currently causing huge inconvenience to people in Kashmir and laid emphasizes over ensuring snow clearance from interior and main roads, on war footing basis.

The failures to restore the roads on the part of administration poses a big challenge to the patients especially pregnant women and critical patients, who find it very hard to make it to hospitals for seeking timely medical assistance, which is a matter of serious concern, PCC General Secretary said.

Administration must admit its failures to ensure respite to people in the backdrop of the heavy snowfall in Kashmir, indicating that only tall claims prior to snowfall have been made whilst there was no action plan ready to deal with the snowfall, PCC General Secretary said.

Surinder Singh Channi advised the administration to speed up the work and ensure road clearance and restoration of other basic facilities especially electricity in entire Kashmir to ensure that there is no more inconvenience to common people.

Mere tall claims and official handouts with regard to restoration of roads, electricity, etc won’t change the reality, there is a need to monitor the work being done on the ground inorder to ensure that there is no more negligence on the part of field agencies and other concerned authorities PCC General Secretary told the administration.(KNS)
