ADC Finalise Arrangements for returning back stranded Persons from Kupwara


Kupwara, June 11 (KNS): District Administration Kupwara has made special arrangements for 206 stranded labourers from outside state that was staying here during COVID-19 lockdown.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone, today convened a meeting of concerned officers to finalise the arrangements being put in place for returning back of labourers and other persons stranded in the district to their home state.
In this connection, a scheduled programme of departure of stranded persons have been devised which will start from June 13 and will conclude on June 15. Besides, two venues for mobilizing the stranded persons have been notified in the district which includes District Police Lines (DPL) Kupwara and Government Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Handwara. The persons belonging to Bihar have been asked to present themselves at DPL Kupwara on June 13 for their departure from the district and the persons belonging to West Bengal & Jharkhand have been asked to present themselves at the same venue on June 15 for departure.
Similarly, the persons belonging to Uttar Pradesh have been asked to present themselves at BHSS Handwara on June 14 for their departure.
On the occasion, the ADC directed the concerned to keep close coordination among themselves for smooth departure of the stranded outsider persons from the district.
Meanwhile, it was also decided in the meeting that the stranded outsider persons who have not yet registered themselves with Labour department Kupwara and are willing to go back their home state, can avail the opportunity and present themselves at the concerned venues.
Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC), Arshad Ahmad; District Statistical & Evaluation Officer, ARTO, Manager SRTC and other concerned were present in the meeting.(KNS)
