AAC pays tributes to Moulvi Mushtaq on his 19th death anniversary

 Srinagar, June 08 (KNS): Awami Action Committee (AAC) has paid rich tributes to its leader and socio-political activist Shaheed-e-Masjid Moulvi Mushtaq Ahmed on his 19th death anniversary, and termed his contribution to the organisation and his social and humanitarian services as invaluable and unforgettable.

According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS) Tthe AAC organised a prayer meeting in favour of Molvi Mushtaq at the party headquarters Mirwaiz Manzil Rajouri Kada, however, the organisation head Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq could not participate in it due to his house detention.

 

The statement reads that late Mushtaq Sahab was an extremely kind and compassionate soul who helped the poor and needy throughout his life. "He was a very sincere, selfless and compassionate leader who served the people of Kashmir in view of his family traditions. He believed in and strived for the party's basic ideology of peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue, for which he bore the hardships of prison and interrogations in jail for his beliefs and in October 1965, he along with Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq was arrested and spend more than two years in jail," the AAC said.

 

It reads that also, under the present head of the organisation Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Moulvi Mushtaq worked side by side to strengthen the AAC and take forward its programmes along with the top leadership of the organisation as well as general workers, the statement said.

 

Special prayers were offered for the elevation of the ranks of Shaheed-e-Masjid, Shaheed-e-Millat and all other martyrs and the late leaders and workers of the organisation, the AAC said. (KNS)
