Zakir Musa killing: Restrictions in Kashmir

Srinagar, May 24 (KNS): The authorities have imposed curfew like restrictions in many volatile areas in Kashmir in the wake of killing of militant commander Zakir Musa in Dadsara village of Tral on Thursday evening.

A senior police official told KNS that security personal have been deployed in many areas in high numbers to prevent untoward incidents.

Internet has been suspended in Kashmir and the train service from Banihal to Baramula has been suspended, while public transport is off the roads but thin movement of private vehicles is visible in civil line areas.

The civil secretariat and other government offices are open.

Army spokesman Rajesh Kalai confirmed that Zakir Musa has been killed in Dadsara village of Pulwama district in an encounter with security forces on Thursday evening. (KNS)
