Srinagar, July 24 (KNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday addressed the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Program at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora, urging youth to lead Jammu and Kashmir’s growth, peace, and prosperity.
Calling youth the “most valuable asset” of the 21st century, the LG said, “The youth of J&K will create a brighter future and ensure lasting peace and prosperity. With abundant opportunities, they hold the power to drive a socio-economic revolution.”
The LG highlighted that the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect initiative, launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, bridges the gap between young citizens and policymakers while empowering them as active nation-builders. The program, leveraging the MY Bharat platform, promotes leadership, dialogue, and participatory governance as India moves toward its development vision for 2047.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He also stressed the need for drug-free campuses, calling on universities to form student committees, implement awareness drives, and provide support systems to ensure a healthy learning environment.
The event included felicitation of winners from pre-events like Youth Parliament and Debate Competitions. The LG also administered the Viksit Bharat Shapath pledge and released IUST’s Institutional Development Plan, urging the university to focus on innovation, including establishing a semiconductor lab.
