Srinagar, Jun 24 (KNS): Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik was today arrested by police and immediately shifted to central jail Srinagar.
Police this morning cordoned the residence of JKLF chairman and arrested him.
He was immediately sent to Srinagar central jail on judicial remand till 26th June 2017. JKLF vice chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi is also in police custody from last many days and is languishing in police station Parimpora.
Prior to his arrest, while talking to media, JKLF chairman said that on Eid like occasions prisoners are usually released from jails and police stations as a good will gesture but RSS backed PDP regime has made a new norm in Kashmir by arresting more and more people and incarcerate them in jails on this auspicious occasion.
He said that so-called rulers are actually annoyed with our Chrar I Shareef visit and this arrest is actually like taking revenge from us.
He said that so-called rulers and their forces are actually promoting violence as they have blanket banned every peaceful political and religious activity in Kashmir. Chrar I Shareef Jalsa was actually one of the best examples of peaceful attitude of the resistance camp as a huge public program was conducted in an exemplary peaceful manner but this peaceful attitude does not suit so-called rulers and occupational authorities as they want to keep resistance leadership away from people by using violent methods of military and police, added Yasin Malik.
He said that instead of releasing Political prisoners on Eid so-called rulers have chosen to send more Kashmiris to Jails which shows their animosity with Muslims and Kashmiris.
JKLF chairman said that Kashmir has been turned into a killing field and big prison and from last year besides killing hundreds, blinding and injuring thousands, and incarcerating thousands of young and old who are still languishing in jails and police stations.
He said that by these harsh methods of state sponsored terrorism, so-called rulers want to break our will and resolve but we want to tell them that military might and use of brute force has and can never break our will. In fact this oppression is growing our passion and hardens our resolve to keep resisting the forces of evil, asserted Yasin Malik.
Meanwhile JKLF chairman has expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the demise of mother of Kashmir Mass Movement chief Fareeda Behenjee.
Expressing his solidarity with the bereaved family, JKLF chairman said that the departed lady was a symbol of sacrifice as her husband Shaheed Muhammad Yusuf Baigh embraced martyrdom in 1992 and her whole family has been active in resistance movement.
While praying for the heavenly abode of the deceased mother, JKLF chairman also prayed for the patience to her bereaved family.
Also JKLF delegations comprising of Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Zahoor Ahmad Butt, Abdul Rashid Magloo, Muhammad Altaf and Muhammad Azeem Zargar visited Brath Sopore and Indergam Pattan and visited the bereaved families of recent martyrs Gulzar Ahmad and Basit Ahmad. While paying rich tributes to these innocent martyrs, JKLF delegation expressed solidarity with their families. (KNS)
