‘Innovations can take place only by quality research’

Srinagar, Nov 23 (KNS): Central University of Kashmir (CUK), Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir today inaugurated a one-week workshop on research methodology on the theme “C-programming, Latex and Mathematics,” organised by the Department of Mathematics at Nowgam-III academic block of the varsity.
According to the statement issued to KNS, Director, Campus-III and Head Department of Economics, Prof. G M Bhat, Director Research and Development, Prof. Abdul Gani, Professor Department of Statistics and Operations Research, Aligarh Muslim University, Prof. Aquil Ahmad, Coordinator Department of Mathematics, Dr. Aftab Ahmad, Heads and Coordinators of other departments, faculty members, research scholars and students were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir said the Mathematics Department started Post Graduate, five year integrated programme and Research programme within shortest possible time after its inception, which indicates its seriousness in continuously upgrading the department in academic affairs.
He suggested to scholars that innovations can take place only by quality research and asked them to get acquainted with research methodologies in totality. CUK VC also assured the scholars of every kind of help and support by the university authorities in their research work.
Director Research and Development, Prof. Abdul Gani said the research is one of the basic things in any educational institution, particularly the universities. He further said that research contributes in the knowledge wealth of the society, adding that main aim of holding series of research workshops is to create a research friendly atmosphere and culture in the university.
Director Campus-III and Head Department of Economics, Prof. G.M Bhat said that there is always a need for such workshops in order to sensitize the scholars about the evolving trends in the research methodology. He said that it is the era of scientific research and there is no scope for errors.
Professor Department of Statistics and Operations Research, AMU, Prof. Aquil Ahmad, asked the scholars to produce quality research, which could be published in leading research journals of the world. He said that calculation is also very important in research methodology.
Assistant Professor, Ghulam Muhammad Sofi conducted the programme proceedings while as Coordinator Department of Mathematics, Dr. Aftab Hussain Shah proposed the vote of thanks. (KNS)
