Srinagar, June 21 (KNS): National Conference president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Saturday once again emphasized the urgent need to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. He warned that if the process continues to be delayed, the party may be forced to seek legal intervention from the Supreme Court.
Talking to media, as per KNS correspondent, Abdullah said that it has been eight months since the government in Jammu and Kashmir was formed. “I remain optimistic that with the return of statehood, we will also regain the administrative authority necessary for proper governance,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He also said that the National Conference’s position on the matter has not changed and that the party is waiting patiently. “However, if delays persist without justification, we will have no choice but to knock on the doors of the Supreme Court,” he stated firmly.
Abdullah also underlined the party’s commitment to a peaceful and democratic approach. “We will not resort to violence, but silence is not an option when our fundamental political rights are withheld,” he added.(KNS)
