New Delhi, Sep 9 (KNS): Voting for the vice presidential election began on Tuesday, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi being the first to cast his vote.
The contest is between NDA nominee C P Radhakrishnan and joint opposition candidate B Sudershan Reddy, though the BJP-led alliance holds a clear advantage after the sudden resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar.

Members of both Houses of Parliament are voting at the Parliament House between 10 AM and 5 PM. Counting will begin at 6 PM, with results expected by late evening.
The electoral college has 781 members, with the majority mark at 391. The NDA commands the support of 425 MPs, while the opposition has 324.
