Visit of Ministers to J&K futile exercise: PDP MP Fayaz Mir

Srinagar, Jan 24 KNS: Peoples Democratic Party MP Fayaz Ahmed Mir today termed the visit of central ministers to J&K for inauguration of developmental projects as eyewash. “This is a futile exercise. People don’t have access to basic amenities like road, water and electricity and the Government is boosting of inaugurating mega projects,” he told KNS.

He also demanded start of dialogue process between GOI and mainstream leaders here.

PDP MP also said that it is futile to parachute a team of senior Ministers in J&K and keep its three former Chief Ministers in detention.

“They should also release all political prisoners. Democracy functions through clash of ideas not in isolation,” he said.

Notably, a team of Ministers are on weeklong visit in different areas of J&K as part of centers outreach programme- to get first hand appraisal of various central schemes/programmes and demands of people for further improving governance.
