Srinagar November 03:(KNS) On Health Day is an international campaign co-coordinated by the One Health Commission, the One Health Initiative Autonomous pro bono Team and the One Health Platform Foundation. The goal of One Health Day is to bring attention around the world to the need for One Health interactions and for the world to see them in action. The One Health Day campaign is designed to engage as many individuals as possible from as many arenas as possible in One Health education and awareness events, and to generate an inspiring array of projects worldwide. Today on November 3rd, 2020 Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Srinagar in collaboration with Directorate of Extension, SKUAST-Kashmir celebrated One Health Day on a virtual platform to educate and raise awareness about Animal-Human-Ecosystem health. Officers of the varsity, scientists, students, scholars, and related professionals participated in the online event. Prof Shakil A Wani, Ex Director Education/Ex Head Veterinary Microbiology, SKUAST-Kashmir in his unique style enlightened the participants about Professional responsibilities of a public health veterinarian in one health framework. The talk was followed by a healthy theme based interactive session moderated by Dr Ajaz A Ganai (Organising Secretary & Scientist KVK Srinagar) & Dr Aijaz A Dar (Scientist Vety. Medicine, DoE). Promotion of animal/human/environmental health through individual and collective efforts was reiterated by the participants. Dr Rekhi Singh, Head KVK Srinagar welcomed the participants, and Dr Riaz A Lone, Scientist of the Kendra presented the vote of thanks.(KNS)
