Srinagar, Apr 05 (KNS): A police party deputed to execute a non bailable warrant by the Jammu and Kashmir High Court was attacked by locals in a Budgam village and a police constable was held hostage by an irate mob.
A statement issued by Jammu and Kashmir police said that a violent mob attacked a police party in village Waragam of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday afternoon when it reached the village to execute a non bailable warrant issued by the Jammu and Kashmir High Court U/S 512 CRPC against one accused person Tariq Malik son of Ali Mohammad Malik resident of Waragam Budgam.
“The violent mob held a police constable hostage. A case has been registered and investigations are underway,” reads the police statement. (KNS)
