Banihal, Mar 08 (KNS): On the demand of local public, MLA Banihal and former minister Vikar Rasool Wani Thursday conducted extensive tour of Shagan area of the Banihal constituency and redressed grievances of the people in a day long interactive camp held with them at Bhaderkoot kote Modh Shagan here.
During interaction people highlighted various demands and problems being faced by them which include road connectivity, water supply facility, additional power transformers and drinking water supply among others.
Expressing concern over non-availability of road connectivity to the Bhaderkoot area and sanction of medical aid center etc.
MLA Banihal Vikar Rasool Wani after visiting the desputed portion of PMGSY road connecting thousands of souls Shagan area.
He urged upon the public to cooperate with the department for execution of this prestigious project. He directed the department to adopt people friendly approach for ensuring the time bound completion of this road.
He further added that second phase of PMGSY road has been already approved and with the active cooperation of the local public and dedication of the authorities the dream of Shagan road will be shortly come true.
Wani assured the people that the work on the road connecting the area will start within days.
On the issue of water supply and electricity facility, the MLA asked the authorities to submit a proposal in this regard, besides responding to the demand of the people of the area to augment power supply in the area, the MLA instructed the authorities to do the needful on the war footing basis and asked them to provide the 63 KVA transformer to halla village that the excessive load on the existing transformer could be catered.
The people of the area brought up various issues before MLA Banihal Vikar Rasool wani and he gave patient hearing and gave on the spot directions to the concerned officers for redressing the same.
Imtiyaz Ahmed Khanday Secretary JK congress, Executive Engineer PMGSY Banihal and officers of other departments were also accompanied with MLA Banihal. (KNS)
