Jammu, Jan 01 (KNS): V. K. Singh-IPS, DGP/Commandant General Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF, J&K on Tuesday assumed the charge of Director Fire & Emergency Services.
During his visit to Fire & Emergency Services Headquarters Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, Singh was presented a Guard of Honour by the Fire & Emergency Services contingent.
Singh inspected the Headquarter and interacted with the staff. A number of on-spot directions were issued to the concerned officers for quick response to ensure our commitment to public safety and the Fire Service motto “We Serve to Save”.
The officers briefed the Director regarding preparations to deal with Fire and other emergencies. Shortfall in terms of manpower and equipment were also discussed and the Director assured them that steps would be taken on to attend to the deficiencies and make the organization more effective and efficient.
He complimented the officers and jawans for the good and efficient work they have done on various operational grounds despite all odds. (KNS)
