Srinagar, July 09 (KNS): The Government has rescinded several unauthorized transfer orders issued in the Public Works (R&B) Department, terming the move a serious violation of the established transfer policy.
According to official , it came to the notice of the Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister that the Engineer-in-Chief (Secretary Technical), who retired on 30th June 2025 upon attaining the age of superannuation, had issued multiple transfer orders involving Engineers and Technical Staff—both Gazetted and Non-Gazetted—during the final days of her tenure.
Crucially, these transfers were made without the approval of the Competent Authority and were found to be in contravention of Government Order No. 861-GAD of 2010 dated 28.07.2010 and Government Order No. 948-JK(GAD) of 2020 dated 15.10.2020, which clearly lay down the policy framework for employee transfers and postings.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Taking strong exception to this, the Deputy Chief Minister immediately directed the Administrative Department to rescind all such unauthorized orders. In compliance, the department has formally revoked Order No. PW/EiC/Estab/36 of 2025 dated 17.06.2025, through Government Order No. 216-PW(R&B) of 2025 dated 09.07.2025.
Issuing a stern message, the Deputy Chief Minister stated, "Violations of the Government's Transfer Policy will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Those responsible will face serious repercussions in accordance with the rules."
The Government reaffirmed its commitment to MAINTAINING transparency, accountability, and rule-based governance. Any action undermining institutional integrity or bypassing due procedures, officials said, will be dealt with decisively.(KNS)
