35.64% voter turnout recorded in Sumbal

Bandipora, Oct 10 (KNS): Polling in Municipal Committee Sumbal here on Wednesday ended peacefully after 35.64% voter turnout was recorded in the second phase of four-phased polls.
Out of 2834 votes polled, 1484 are male voters while 1350 were female voters.
There are 13 wards in the Sumbal Municipal Committee.
The polling started at 7 am and ended at 4PM.
A police official said that the polling passed off peacefully.
Police and paramilitary forces were deployed in strength to prevent any untoward from interfering with the election process.
Meanwhile, there was a complete shutdown in Sumbal town following the boycott call given by JRL. (KNS)
