Police says identity of militants being ascertained, it seems they are foreigners

Srinagar, Oct 19 (KNS): Two militants were killed in a brief shootout between forces and militants in Kralhaar area near the Baramulla railway station in the outskirts of Baramulla town, police said.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS) correspondent, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla Imtiyaz Hussain while addressing a presser confirmed that “two militants were killed in a brief shootout in Kralhaar area of Baramulla town.”
“When a SUV vehicle the militants were traveling in was asked to stop at a naka setup by both Police and CRPF, the militants fired upon the police party, resulted in a brief exchange of fire,” he said, adding that both the militants were killed in the brief gunfight.
He said that it seems that the militants who were killed in the gunfight were affiliated with Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM). He said 01AK rifle, 2 Chinese pistols and other arms and ammunition were recovered from their procession.
Meanwhile, a top police officer said that the identity of the militants killed in a brief gunfight is being ascertained. “We are yet to ascertain their identity but it seem that the both are foreigners,” he said. (KNS)
