Srinagar, Jan 12 (KNS): Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Gulshanpora forests area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday morning.
Reports said joint teams of Army, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police and central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jointly launched the search operation in the area following the inputs of presence of the militant in the forest area.
An police officer said when the join team of security forces were moving towards the particular area in the dense forests, the militants hiding there, fired at them resulting the encounter in the area.
However, they said two militants were killed in the gun fight and operation in the area was going on the official said, the bodies of the militants were not recovered from the encounter site as the exchange of the fire was going on.
The officer further said the identification of the slain militants are being ascertaining
Meanwhile the operation in the area was going on when this report was filled (KNS).
