Trilateral talks should be initiated to resolve Kashmir: Former Minister

Srinagar, Apr 23 (KNS): Former Minister and ex-MLA Kathua Babu Singh on Tuesday said that trilateral dialogue process should be initiated to resolve the long pending Kashmir issue.

Singh who was accompanied by senior lawyer Babar Qadri and others addressed media persons today here and said that Kashmir can’t be resolved through military might but a trilateral dialogue be initiated between India, Pakistani and Kashmiris to resolve the issues.

He appealed India and Pakistan Prime Ministers that war is not any solution and dialogue is the only way to resolve the issues.
“There is stalemate internally and externally as well and the confrontation is at highest peak. This stalemate must come to an end and the dialogue must be initiated so that things would change peacefully on ground,” he added.

Singh who was Power Minister during Late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed's tenure in 2005, said politically issues can only be resolved politically with a sincere approach. The former MLA Kathua also condemned the recent incident in Srinagar’s Central jail.

Reacting to the health of JKLF chief Muhammad Yasin Malik, he said he is a political prisoner and should be treated well.

Meanwhile, Advocate Babar Qadri also expressed solidarity with Malik, saying that Malik’s family should be allowed to meet their beloved. (KNS)
