Srinagar, Jan 25 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the murder of a 17 year old boy Shakir Ahmad Mir at the hands of government forces in Chaigund area of Shopian. The party has strongly condemned the showering of bullets on civilians resulting in the martyrdom of Shakir and injuring of many including two young ladies Sabreena Jan and Sumi Jan.
DFP has said that trigger happy forces take pleasure out of killing innocent Kashmiris and feel free to kill and injure them as they are being awarded for these acts. There is no accountability of forces and they are not being asked anything after such incidents so civilian killings are taking place in Kashmir every now and then. DFP expressed solidarity with the parents of Shakir Ahmad. The party also prayed for speedy recovery of all injured including Sabreena Jan and Sumi Jan.
The party paid rich and glowing tributes to Shaheed Sameer Ahmad of Chaigund-Adoo and Shaheed Firdous Ahmad of Ganowpora Shopian who achieved martyrdom while fighting the Indian forces.
The party said that nothing can be achieved by the Indian policy of suppression and oppression, nor the killings can achieve any results. It is high time for New Delhi to shun the policy of stubbornness and accept the realities about Kashmir dispute so that it is resolved according to the wishes of the people.
Meanwhile, DFP condoled the editor of daily Kashmir Uzma, Hamid Hameed on the sad demise of his mother. The party secretary general Moulana Mohammad Abdullah Tari while condoling Hamid Hameed and other bereaved prayed for the deceased soul. (KNS)
