Handwara, June 14 (KNS): MLA Handwara and Peoples Conference President Sajad Lone conducted an extensive socio-political tour across the Handwara constituency today, engaging directly with residents and listening to their concerns and aspirations.
The tour covered a wide swath of villages across Upper Rajwar and Ramhall, including Zachaldara, Rajpora, Butshugni, Behnipora, Golipora, Sarmarg, Lachampora, Dogripora, Kukroosa, Tarathpora, Kalmoona, Pachkote and Sharkote. At every stop, Lone interacted with the local populace, gaining a deep understanding of the challenges they face particularly the acute shortage of irrigation water that continues to threaten agrarian livelihoods.
Speaking to media following the visit, Lone expressed deep concern over the distress he witnessed: "These are hardworking agricultural families, yet their fields remain parched and their voices unheard. The absence of proper irrigation facilities has devastated their crops and livelihoods, but the government appears indifferent to their suffering.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"
Taking aim at the administration’s misplaced priorities, he said that Instead of addressing these urgent public issues, the government seems preoccupied with transferring bureaucrats to favored postings.
"My humble appeal to those in charge is simple that for heaven’s sake, focus on the grievances of the people. You were elected to serve, not to hide behind files and transfers."
The locals, visibly moved by Lone’s presence and empathy, expressed gratitude for his consistent engagement and sincere efforts. Many pinned their hopes on his leadership for bringing tangible change and much-needed relief to the constituency.
Reaffirming his commitment, Sajad Lone assured residents of all possible support and reiterated that their voices would be taken to every relevant forum until justice is done. (KNS)
