Srinagar, Dec 07 (KNS): The department of tourism Kashmir condoled the demise of its former employee Javed Iqbal Khan who died on Thursday. Javed joined department of tourism Kashmir in 1977 and retired as Assistant Tourist Officer in 2011. Javed had worked with Youth Services and Sports as a Ski instructor before moving to department of Tourism.
A condolence meeting was held at the office of Directorate of Tourism Kadshmir which was chaired by Director Tourism Kashmir Mahmood A Shah and attended by its Deputy Directors Peerzada Zahoor, Riyaz Beigh, Waseem Raja and other officials. Director Tourism expressed deep grief over his demise and prayed for the departed soul. The members in the meeting also expressed their condolences with the bereaved family.
The participants remembered him as a hardworking, dedicated, adventurous and a very noble soul who was instrumental in promoting skiing mostly among students. Javed worked with adventure wing of the tourism department and was also senior member of the Jammu and Kashmir Mountaineering and Hiking Club.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Mountain and Hiking Club also held the condolence meeting under the chair of its President, Vice President and Executive Committee and expressed the grief over Javed’s demise. (KNS)
