Anantnag, June 29 (KNS):Three militants have been killed in an encounter that broke out between government forces and militants in Khulchohar Runipora area of South kashmir's Anantnag district on Monday morning.

Report's reached to KNS said three militants have been killed in an exchange of fire while as search operation is on in the area.

An Official said that ealry a joint team of army’s 19 RR,CRPF and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter.

The identification of militants is being ascertained the official added.

Meanwhile authorities have suspended the internet services in the area as precautionary measures (KNS)
