Three militants killed in Bla encounter, two weapons recovered

Srinagar, Jan 23 (KNS): Three unidentified militants were killed in an encounter that raged between forces and militants in Binner village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday morning.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla, Imtiyaz Hussain told reporters that three militants were killed in the gunfight today.
He said that they had received inputs about the presence of militants in the area following which a search operation was launched in the night. “During the search, the militants fired upon the search party, thus ensuing encounter in which three militants were killed,” he said.
He added that three bodies have been spotted but are yet to be recovered from the encounter site.
According to KNS correspondent, Manzoor Sheeri, one among the slain militants has been identified as Shoib Akhoon, a local while two others are foreigners.
Hussain further said that the militants were hiding in the hideout there, saying that two AK-47 rifles have been recovered but still the search is on.
Officials said that search operation as earlier jointly launched by Army’s 46 RR, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police at Jamia Mohalla, Binner area. (KNS)
