Thousands Gather at Urs Sharif: Mian Altaf Thanks Devotees, Administration

Srinagar, June 9 (KNS): Thousands of devotees from across Jammu and Kashmir gathered to participate in the annual Urs Sharif of Nizam-u-Din Kiyanvi (RA) in Kangan, Ganderbal.

Talking to the media, Mian Altaf said the event continued throughout the night, featuring continuous Tilawat, Zikr-o-Azkaar, and addresses by renowned Ulema (religious scholars).

Despite challenging travel conditions, many pilgrims began arriving days in advance, coming from remote areas and enduring hardships on the way. Some faced obstacles during their journey, but their commitment to the Urs remained unwavering, he said.

He also said that the devotees prayed for peace and prosperity for the people of the country and the region.

He expressed deep gratitude to the local administration, law enforcement agencies, and especially the volunteers who worked tirelessly day and night to manage food, accommodation, and other logistics for the massive crowd.

Acknowledging that some attendees faced inconveniences, he assured the public that such issues will be given top priority in future events.

“We’ve always strived to provide the best arrangements. While there were some difficulties this time, we promise to do even better in the future,” he added.(KNS)
