Those Who Shed Indian Blood Will Pay Dearly: LG Manoj Sinha

Srinagar, Aug 12 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday said that India has avenged Pakistan’s brutality through ‘Operation Mahadev’ and ‘Operation Sindoor’, warning that the “terrorist country” would have to pay a very heavy price if it dares to spill the blood of Indian citizens again.

Speaking at the ‘Pedal for Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ rally organised by the Border Security Force (BSF) ahead of the 79th Independence Day, Sinha felicitated 79 cyclists including 40 local youth and 39 BSF personnel who participated in the event. Earlier, he flagged off a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ from Dal Lake and joined the march to the Botanical Garden.

Paying tributes to the victims of the April 22 “Pakistan-sponsored” terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives — mostly tourists — Sinha said that through the two operations, security forces had given a befitting reply to Pakistan.

“If the terrorist country sheds the blood of our citizens, it will have to pay a very heavy price,” Sinha said, praising the armed forces and Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel involved in the July 28 encounter that killed three senior Lashkar-e-Taiba commanders behind the Pahalgam attack.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

LG also confirmed that India targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir during ‘Operation Sindoor’ in May as part of the retaliation.

Urging people to remain vigilant against divisive elements, Sinha lauded the BSF for inspiring youth to join the armed forces and serve the nation. “From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, India is one. The hearts of 140 crore Indians beat as one big family,” he said, adding that citizens must put the nation before personal interests.

At the Tiranga Yatra, Sinha honoured Kargil war heroes and released a monograph in memory of martyrs from Jammu and Kashmir. “Tiranga is my dharma, my strength and my heartbeat. For the sake of duty, may we be born again and again on this holy land,” he said.

LG said the patriotic spirit of the people under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership is driving J&K towards a peaceful and prosperous future. “From the banks of Jhelum to Chenab and from Pir Panjal to Harmukh, the skies are shining with the tricolour and the echo of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ is everywhere,” he added.(KNS)
