Srinagar, Apr 16 (KNS): Mohammad Yousf, 48, foster father of the 8 year old girl child who was raped and murdered says that he wanted to admit her daughter to the school from this year.
"Asifa was 7 years and 10 months old. This year I wanted to send her to school. The school is far away from our locality in Rasana," says Yousuf, who had adopted Asifa from his sister when she was a toodler of 6 months.
Asifa was raped and murdered as per Crime Branch chargesheet in Rasana hamlet in Kathua district of Jammu region after she was kidnapped n January 10.
Her body was found a week after in forests of Rasana by the family.
He says that he appeals to the people that don't make the issue of his daughter a communal issue.
"I want culprits to be punished. That is my only demand," he says.
The CB chargesheet has revealed gory details of how she was kidnapped, raped and murdered by the accused who have now been arrested by the police and the trials of the case have began today in Kathua district court.
Yousuf, who is a Bakerwal, has migrated from Rasana with his wife, two sons and the flock of sheep and cattle as part of their migration to more greener pastures. They are moving towards Kargil.
The distraught father says that he and his family is satisfied with the Crime Branch investigation and wants culprits to be punished by the law.
"I have full faith in the crime branch investigation and the law of the land. I have firm belief that the culprits arrested by the police will be brought to justice. What had my daughter done to them. She was a child," he says.
He says that after their migration from Kargil back to Kathua they fear that they might be targeted.
"We don't know whether we will be allowed to live safely in Rasana. We have our land and rooms there for our living. It will be difficult for us to live there now," he says.
He says that he hoped that Government will provide them secure atmosphere to live in Kathua after their migration. (KNS)
