Terrorist Neutralised as Operation Ashdar Enters Day 2 in Budgam

 Srinagar, Sep 04 (KNS) : Security forces eliminated one terrorist during the second day of the ongoing anti-terrorist operation 'Op Ashdar' in the Ashdar Gali area of central Kashmir's Budgam district on Friday, the Army said.

 
The operation, which commenced on Thursday evening following specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of militants, was resumed at first light this morning after troops heard suspicious gunshots during the initial cordon.
 
In an official statement on social media platform X, the Indian Army's Chinar Corps confirmed the development.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"Based on specific intelligence input, a Joint Search Operation was launched by Indian Army, J&K Police and CRPF in general area Ashdar Gali, Budgam. Vigilant troops observed suspicious activity and upon being challenged, terrorists opened fire, prompting a fierce exchange of gunfire during which one terrorist was neutralised," the statement read.
 
Security forces have recovered one AK-series rifle and other war-like stores from the site of the encounter. (KNS)
