Seeks Govt response on appointments of defeated candidates as VC's in Corpns

Jammu, Jan 17 (KNS): CPI (M) Secretary and MLA Kulgam here on Wednesday raised the issue of non compliance of the directives of house committees.
He alleged disrespect to elected MLAs starts from the offices of the ministers and trickles down to offices at the grass roots.
According to the KNS correspondent, taking part in the debate on the motion of grants for Revenue department, Tarigami said he gets an acknowledgement of a letter from Prime Minister's office but the ministers in the Mehbooba government not to talk of offices bother to pickup his call and hear him on the issues concerning people.
He also alleged that officers mostly skip house committee meetings and never bother to cite reasons for their non participation in the meetings during which the issues concerning the working of departments are discussed and appropriate directions are issued to departments.
Raising the issue of political appointments particularly defeated candidates appointed as Vice Chairpersons in corporations, autonomous organizations and public undertakings, Tarigami sought explanations from the finance minister on behalf of the government for rehabilitating defeated candidates and disrespecting the elected representatives.
