Srinagar, Feb 12 (KNS): Travel Agents Society of Kashmir (TASK) in collaboration with the Department of Tourism Kashmir organized Interactive Seminar cum Road Show at Dhaka on 10th Feb 2019 where over 200 travel agents, tour operators of Bangladesh and the local electronic, print media participated.
During the travel show, TASK showcased tourism potential of the J&K State and apprised the gathering about the increasing number of arrivals from Bangladesh during the past few years.
President TASK Mir Anwar in his keynote address said Bangladesh is emerging as the major upcoming market for the J&K especially Kashmir.
Anwar said the department of tourism Kashmir is leaving no stone unturned to create world-class tourism infrastructure for the smooth and memorable holidays of the travellers.
He highlighted some of the unique attractions of witner tourism including Gondola Gulmarg Cable Car, heli-skiing. He said due to plenty snowfall this year, large number of tourists especially foreigners have visited Kashmir in past two months.
TASK urged them to book their travel plans on the opening of the Asia’s largest Tulip garden in Srinagar in the first week of April.
TASK president also highlighted other tourism products including pilgrim sites like historical shrines and mosques, golf and adventure tourism potential of the State.
Speaking on the occasion, Ather Yameen, Secretary General TASK said that Kashmir has now emerged as a great MICE destination with best facilities for conference and conventions.
He said during past many years large Corporate Houses from India and other neighboring countries have been holding their conferences in Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam.
He said the State Tourism department is concentrating on social media, besides numerous festivals, to woo travellers both at national and international levels.
TASK said J&K tourism is gearing up range of tourism activities for summers months to make the stay of the tourists memorable.
During the travel show, TASK members also conducted B2B meetings and promoted the member’s travel company. TASK also launched its annual member directory.
Notably, the department of tourism Kashmir has embarked on an aggressive marketing campaign within and outside the country to project JK as the perfect all season destinations.
The department has organized several road shows in collaboration with the local travel and hospitality sector and also participated in the various travel fairs in Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmadabad. (KNS)
