JK Govt to showcase tourism potential under Incredible India campaign at Bangkok

Srinagar, Feb 12 (KNS): Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) on Monday called on Suchitra Durai, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Thailand at her office in Bangkok and apprised her about the J&K’s tourism potential and Tourism department’s plans of promotion in Thailand.
The nine-member TAAK delegation was led by its President Ashfaq Siddiq Dug.
During the meeting, TAAK screened department’s ‘Warmest Place on Earth’ movie and other breathtakingly beautiful videos which Suchitra Durai watched with keen interest.
Suchitra, who is also Permanent representative of India to United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), was moved by the 5-minute movie and said it truly reflects Kashmir’s rich culture of known hospitality.
She assured the TAAK delegation that she would promote J&K’s tourism potential in the upcoming Incredible India Road Show and Travel Fair in Bangkok.
Recalling her vacation she has spent in Kashmir, she said Kashmir is one of the most beautiful places on Earth for travellers.
“We will try to promote J&K among the travel agents here in Thailand,” she said.
Notably, TAAK with an active support from the department of tourism Kashmir and Indian Embassy in Bangkok is organising a travel show under “Incredible India Tourism Roadshow” theme at Bangkok.
TAAK Funder President Rauf A Tramboo, TAAK Secretary General Farooq A Kuthoo, besides other office bearers were part of the meeting.
The ambassador will be the chief guest during the travel show. TAAK President will deliver keynote address and showcase J&K State’s tourism products.
On the sidelines of the roadshow, TAAK will also participate in the 24th Thai International Travel Fair (TITF) 2019, the largest tourism event of Thailand being held during the same period from 13-17 February, 2019 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.
The fair is being organized by the Thai Travel Agents Association (TTAA) in collaboration with Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). The TITF is expected to draw 1,100 exhibitors and 400,000 visitors. (KNS)
