Srinagar, Jul 29 (KNS): Saying that no power on the earth can abrogate Article 370 of the Constitution of India, which guarantees special status to the state in the country, Chairman PDF and MLA Khansahib Hakeem Yaseen has cautioned against selfish politicians who try to exploit sentiments and emotions of the people on this issue.
In a statement issued to KNS, Hakeem said that constitutional validity of Article 370 was final and untouchable adding that some political parties were highlighting this issue for their vested interests.
He has asked the people not to get swayed away by false propaganda being made against the permanent nature of Article 370.
He said, infact, those who are crying hoarse about danger to Article 370 today were the real culprits who have weakened this Art. for the greed of power over the years since 1953.He said these parties shall have to be answerable before the people on some day for sell out of the interests of the state.
He said people know well how respective regimes in the state since 1953 sold sovereignty and integrity of the state for their vested interests adding that people of the state cannot be befooled now on the issue of state's sovereignty.
He said Article 370 is dearer to the people of the state and no power on the earth can afford to tamper with it.
Hakeem Yaseen has asked all the mainstream political parties that they should, instead of shedding crocodile tears on safeguarding Art.35-A and Article 370 of the Constitution of India, work towards bringing peace in the bleeding Kashmir and use their influence to prepare a suitable ground for dialogue and reconciliation process between India and Pakistan so that the ongoing bloodshed and mayhem in the state could be stopped immediately.
He said the people of the state are presently caught in a whirlwind of uncertainity and despire adding that they were desperately crying for a healing touch to their untold miseries and sufferings . "The people of the state are no more prepared to hear hollow sermons on the Article 370, " Hakeem Yaseen added. (KNS)
