Srinagar Police Spearheads ‘Run for Unity’ to Promote National Integration in Honor of Sardar Patel

Srinagar, Sep 24 (KNS): Police Station Shalteng organized a vibrant “Run for Unity” today, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s Iron Man. The event, held under the Civic Action Programme 2025-26 by District Police Srinagar, aimed to foster unity and national integration. The run, stretching from Narbal Dumail to Hokarsar Umerabad Shalteng, saw enthusiastic participation from students of Government Higher Secondary Schools Gund Hassi Bhat and Mujgund, local youth, civil society members, and even SDPO West Bemina Srinagar, who joined as a participant.

He emphasized the importance of collective harmony and national pride, resonating with the event’s theme.

The run culminated in a prize distribution ceremony, where Dr. Jaffer, SDPO West, and SHO Police Station Shalteng awarded the top three participants: Shafat Rahi from Gund Hassi Bhat (1st), Javid Abass from Gund Hassi Bhat (2nd), and Faizan Reyaz (3rd). The event not only promoted physical fitness but also reinforced the spirit of unity, leaving participants and attendees inspired to uphold Patel’s legacy of a united India.(KNS)
