Srinagar, Nov 13 (KNS) : The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) today organised a comprehensive Health Camp at its Head Office, Karan Nagar, in collaboration with Government Medical College (GMC) / SMHS Hospital, Srinagar.
The health camp was inaugurated by the Commissioner, SMC, Faz Lul Haseeb (IAS), and aimed at promoting employee health, preventive care, and overall wellness. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers and staff across all wings of the Corporation.
A team of specialist doctors and skilled paramedical staff conducted detailed consultations, screenings, and health evaluations for the participants.
The camp was meticulously organised under the supervision of Dr. Fauzia Habib, Health Officer, SMC, who played a pivotal role in conceptualising, coordinating, and executing the event in close collaboration with the medical team from GMC / SMHS Hospital. Her professionalism, dedication, and proactive planning ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the programme.

Commissioner lauded Dr. Fauzia Habib for her exemplary leadership and commitment, describing her as a dynamic and dedicated officer whose efforts significantly strengthen the Corporation’s public health initiatives. He emphasised that employee welfare remains a top priority for the administration and reaffirmed SMC’s resolve to continue organising similar health and wellness programmes to foster a culture of preventive healthcare among employees especially sanitation workers.
Prominent among those present was Mohammad Ashraf Hakak (JKAS), Administrator, Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals, who appreciated the collaborative effort between the two institutions. Senior officers of the Corporation, including Joint Commissioners, Executive Engineers, and the Chief Sanitation Officer, also attended and availed themselves of the health check-up facilities.(KNS)
