Srinagar-Jammu national highway reopens partially

Srinagar, Dec 23 (KNS): Authorities on Monday allowed stranded vehicles to ply on Srinagar-Jammu national highway, which was partially reopened after remaining closed for three days.
A Traffic police official told KNS that stranded vehicles were allowed to move in the afternoon after the highway was cleared of debris. The highway was closed for the traffic on Friday after landslides hit the road at various places, especially Digdol where 200 meters of the road was damaged.
He advised the passengers to contact respective traffic control units (TCU) before starting journey on the highway. “Passengers are requested not to start their journey from either side of the road, till the highway is completely cleared of debris,” the official said. (KNS)
