Srinagar Jammu Highway remained closed for 2nd day for maintenance

 Srinagar, Jan 21 (KNS):  The Srinagar Jammu National highway on Tuesday remained closed for 2nd consecutive day for maintenance and more than 1500 vehicles are stranded on the road.

 
Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service said that the road was closed for the vehicular movement as maintenance work on the road at various places is underway.
 
An official of the traffic police said the road was closed yesterday due to repairment of the road at several places which got damaged at several places.
 
He further said the men and machinery have been put on work to repair the road as soon as possible and road will be made operational.
 
He further appealed the commuters not to start their journey before knowing the status of the highway from the nearest traffic units.
 
Meanwhile the only road that connects Tangdar area to rest of the country also closed for the traffic movement on Tuesday as the vehicles face problems to cross the sadna top.
 
They resident of the Tangdar said that the repeated closer of road had led the shortage of essential things in the border town Kupwara (KNS).
