Sri-Jmu national Highway remains closed for 4th consecutive day

 Srinagar, Jan 16 (KNS):   The Srinagar Jammu national highway on thrusday remained closed for the fourth consecutive day for the vehicular traffic.


A Traffic police official told KNS that the National Highway was closed for vehicular traffic on Monday evening due to the snowfall. He said road became slippery due to snowfall in Jawahar Tunnel area since last evening and the movement of vehicles was also suspended in Banihal-Qazigund section as well.

The officer said the efforts are on to clear the snow form the highway and most probably the road will be thrown open for the traffic today.

He added that no fresh traffic will be allowed from either side  till  clearance of Snow are not cleared from the road .

 The National Highway Authority of India has pressed in men and machinery to clear the Snow from the road.

 He further appealed the passenger not to start their journey on the highway before knowing the status of the road.

It is worth to mention that the closer of highway has hiked the prices of essentials goods in Kashmir. (KNS).
