Sopore town deprived of development : vice president JKPCC


Srinagar, Mar 14 (KNS): Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Vice President and Ex. MLA Haji Abdul Rashid has urged the Lt. Governor to look into the unresolved developmental issues confronting people of Sopore.
A statement issued to reads, reacting to the lack of development in Sopore and elsewhere in Baramulla District in respect of construction of roads and medical facilities, Haji Abdul Rashid Dar has expressed disappointment over the non-implementation of developmental schemes in Sopore constituency, urging the Lt. Governor G.C. Murmu to personally look into the developmental requirements concerning people, as that, the developmental scenario in entire J&K has been affected due to wrong policies of the then PDP BJP Government in J&K.
Referring to the vital roads Sopore to Shiva and Watlab to Chetkak, Haji Rashid said these are in a dilapidated condition, the funds for construction of these roads under CRF are available, as reported; but the work has not been started thereby causing huge inconvenience to common people, he said.
The Medical facilities in Sopore are also unsatisfactory, the construction work on PHCs namely Bateng and Dangerpor (Sopore) are still incomplete even after twelve (12 years) which is a matter of grave concern and demanded immediate construction of roads, the statement said .
Haji Rashid laid emphasis over completion of construction work on PHCs, on war footing in order to ensure respite to people of his constituency (Sopore) besides urging that availability of essentials in entire north Kashmir be ensured, he added and also invited attention of Lt. Governor about the grievances of the fruit growers, as there has been huge damages to fruit growers due to heavy snowfall, he said. (KNS).
