Sopore, Sep 17 (KNS): Police have apprehended a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession in the jurisdiction of Police Post Watergam here, officials said on Thursday.
During naka checking at Malgonipora, a suspicious individual was intercepted and contraband substance was recovered from his possession, they said.
An FIR No. 88/2026 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and further investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source and wider linkages involved, the officials said.
Sopore Police reiterated its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and said it remains committed to sustained action against drug peddlers to safeguard youth and society from the menace of drugs, they added. (KNS)
