Srinagar, Oct 10 (KNS) : The District Srinagar Softball Championship 2025-26, conducted by the District Srinagar Softball Association and J&K Sports Council under the aegis of Jammu & Kashmir Softball Association, concluded today at Gindun Sports Centre, Rajbagh, with massive participation.
According to a press release issued, Dilbagh Singh, Incharge Gindun Sports Centre, Rajbagh, Srinagar, presided over the concluding function as Chief Guest, while Waseem Raja Khan, General Secretary Jammu & Kashmir Softball Association, and Ajaz Ahmad, renowned sports promoter, attended as Special Guests. Siraj Ud Din Dar graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. The Championship was organized under the supervision of Sh. Mohammad Iqbal Beigh, Organizing Chairman.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest congratulated the organizers for arranging the Championship in a commendable manner. He urged every athlete associated with softball to work hard to bring laurels to Jammu & Kashmir UT, noting that the sport falls under the sports requirement quota of the J&K Government.
He also praised the efforts of Nuzhat Gul, Secretary J&K Sports Council, for promoting sports in the Union Territory and highlighted the modern facilities being provided to athletes to excel at higher levels.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
"Every athlete should utilize the facilities provided by the Sports Council at Gindun Sports Centre. I extend my thanks to the staff of J&K Sports Council, officials from schools, colleges, and clubs for contributing to the success of this Championship," said Dilbagh Singh.
Best Athlete titles were awarded to Shaista Wani in the Women’s section and Mohammad Rasib in the Men’s section. The Chief Guest later distributed medals and trophies among winners, runners-up, and third-place holders. Officials, including Nayeem Hussain, Saqib Fayaz, Nadeem Hussain, Muneera Hassan, Zainab Zahoor, and others, were felicitated for their contributions.
The Championship was sponsored by J&K Sports Council.
