Bandipora , Dec 15 (KNS): The residents of Shahgund village in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district Sunday said that they have been deprived of clean drinking water facility by the Public health Engineering Department (PHE) due to which they are forced to consume contaminated drinking water.
The aggrieved residents told KNS that they are being forced to fetch water from pits where animals too drink. “We requested the concern authorities several times but our plea fell to deaf ear,” a resident told KNS.
He said water pipeline was installed in the area years before but till now the area is without water supply.
Another resident said they are carrying water on cart yards during the rainy days due to which lot of people in the area catch infection.
They appealed the concern official to provide clean drinking water supply to the area at the earliest. (KNS)
