Senior journalist Tariq Ahmad Bhat passes away

 Srinagar, Nov 4(KNS): Tariq Ahmad Bhat, Senior Journalist and Jammu & Kashmir Bureau Chief of The Week magazine, passed away on Monday following a massive cardiac arrest.

Bhat, a well-known name in the media fraternity, had built a reputation over decades for his sharp reportage and deep understanding of political and social developments in Jammu and Kashmir. His work, marked by balance and clarity, earned him respect across journalistic circles and among readers alike.

Expressing grief over the loss, KNS Editor-in-Chief Mohammad Aslam Bhat said Tariq Ahmad Bhat was not only a senior journalist but also well human being. He extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.

Bhat’s career spanned several decades, during which he mentored many young journalists and covered some of the most defining events in Jammu and Kashmir’s recent history. His passing leaves behind a void that will be difficult to fill.
