Says “HR violations is at its peak”

Srinagar, Nov 16 (KNS): Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman, Mohd Ashraf Sehrai lashed on authorities over slapping another PSA (3rd) on Mohd Amin Ahengar of Shopian and Ab Ahad Teli of Gund Kohru Langet and bundled them to Hiranagar and Kot Balwal jails.
Sehrai in a statement issued to KNS said that “human rights violations is at its peak and Kashmiris are facing the wrath of colonial India from last seventy plus years during which every harsh measure and every evil tactic has been employed by the illegal occupant to suppress our voices.”
He also strongly condemned the forces raids on houses of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat district presidents Shakeel Ahmed Itoo and Mufti Abdul Ahad of Shopian and Baramulla during which forces allegedly stolen some jewelry and cash of Ab Ahad's wife during the raid.
Lashing at authorities for vandalism, arrests, raids, Sehrai said that authorities repeatedly arrest leaders and activists’ ahead of Panchayat elections and literally imposed martial law and undue restrictions on all political activities.
“These unlawful and unethical restrictions will prove counterproductive and our youth get alienated from peaceful political activities. There exists no option other than to consider other options to give vent to their sentiments. This evolved an explosive situation and there is increasing tendency in human causalities,” he said.
Sehrai said that Kashmiris are being killed, maimed, jailed, tortured, humiliated and denied their birth right of freedom and right to self-determination. “India takes Kashmir as its occupied colony and therefore believes that no one has any right to question its occupation and oppression unleashed on the subjugated people of Jammu Kashmir,” he said.
Sehrai said people have been forced to file up nomination forms in Kupwara to participate in Panchayat election and it clearly indicated that such polls are going to be held at barrel of gun.
“India follows its egoistic policy and runs its writ through the barrel of gun and its military might and however it has neither worked in past nor it will deliver any good in future. Instead of holding such waste exercise, India should address Kashmir issue and resolve it as per the aspirations of people of Kashmir which have been promised to them by the world community,” he said.
