Raina pitches for implementation of Minority Act

Srinagar, Nov 02 (KNS): 'Santap- an untold story of 1947', a documentary based on the killings of 35 thousand Sikhs in tribal attack on Kashmir in 1947 was released Monday in Gurudawra Shaheed Bunga here on the remembrance day of 1947 martyrs.
All Party Sihk Coordination Committee in a statement to KNS said the docu drama is directed and produced by Dr. Sukhpreet Singh udoke an eminent Sikh historian, scholar and documentary film maker.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sukhpreet Singh said that this documentary is based on the deep research of more than three years in which survivors of that attack are the first hand source of information.
Singh further added that it is mandatory for our present and future generations to know about the pious and unforgettable sacrifices of their elders where they willingly sacrificed their lives to save their honor and religion.
“This will be an inspiring lesson to the current generation where they need to remember and follow the pious footsteps of their elders where they kept their faith, religion and honor first than life,” he said.
In the gathering of more than three thousands devotees, Gurbani and historic events were discussed.
Speaking on the occasion chairman All Party Sikh Coordination committee Jagmohan Singh Raina laid emphasis on implementation of National Minority in Jammu and Kashmir and appealed to the state government to fill all the vacant posts of Punjabi lecturers from school to university level.
Daleep Singh Deepak an eye witness of the massacre of 1947 shared his pain and trauma.
Mangant Singh and Inderbeer Singh of Sikh missionary college Budgam and Srinagar respectively, presented their tributes to the martyrs if 1947 and appealed Sikh youth not to forget their legacy and heritage.
Surjeet singh Badal Akali leader, Navtej Singh secretary DGPC Srinagar were among the other eminent speakers of the occasion.
Gurudawra Parbandak committee Budgam and komal library honored S. Sukhpreet Singh udoke and his research and technical team on the occasion.
The whole programme was organized and conducted by GPC Budgam and komal library Shaheed Bunga. (KNS)
