Srinagar,29 July (KNS) : The District Srinagar Carrom Championship 2025–26 was officially inaugurated by Salman Ali Sagar,MLA Hazratbal Srinagar, at Carrom Hall, Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar. The opening ceremony was held in the presence of Mushtaq Zargar (Manager, Bakshi Stadium, and several distinguished guests and office bearers of the association.
Prominent personalities present included Adil RashidShah, President, J&K Carrom Association and District Srinagar Carrom Association; Arif Sultan Khan, Treasurer, J&K Carrom Association, Dawar Rashid Gadyari, Astt Secretary, J&K Carrom Association; along with players, officials, and Carrom enthusiasts.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
This two-day championship, sponsored by the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, witnessed the participation of around 110 players across four categories Cadet, Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior, in both men’s and women’s, boys’ and girls’ divisions.
The event is organized by the District Srinagar Carrom Association under the aegis of the J&K Carrom Association. On the first day alone, around 80 matches were played, showcasing exceptional talent and sportsmanship.
The remaining matches, including the finals, will take place tomorrow, followed by the prize distribution ceremony at 3:30 PM at the same venue.(KNS)
