Calls for Fast-Tracking Infrastructure Upgrades in Health, Education Sectors

Srinagar, August 01 (KNS): Minister for Health, Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education, Sakeena Itoo Friday chaired a high-level review meeting at the Civil Secretariat to assess the developmental landscape of Khansahib Constituency in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
 
The meeting was attended by MLA Khansahib Saif-u-din Bhat; Secretary School Education, Ram Niwas Sharma; Secretary Health and Medical Education, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah; Director School Education Kashmir; Director Health Services Kashmir; Director Coordination New GMCs; Director Finance Health & Medical Education; Director Planning Health & Medical Education; CEO Budgam; CMO Budgam and other senior officials.]
 
During the meeting, the Minister took a comprehensive review of ongoing projects related to healthcare, education, and civic amenities in the constituency.
 
She emphasized the need to enhance healthcare infrastructure at Primary Health Centres and sub-district hospitals.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe Health Department was instructed to expedite proposals concerning critical services such as dialysis units, diagnostic labs, and essential medical facilities.
 
In the education sector, Itoo directed the concerned officers to prioritize renovation of key schools and college buildings, ensuring that students have access to basic amenities. She also stressed the need to introduce ICT-enabled classrooms and upgrade laboratories in line with modern educational standards.
 
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to inclusive and grassroots development, Sakeena Itoo said that bridging gaps in essential sectors like health, education, and infrastructure remains a top priority of the Omar Abdullah-led administration.

She further underscored the importance of interdepartmental coordination for effective implementation of developmental and welfare schemes and proposed setting up monthly grievance redressal forums at the constituency level to address public concerns in a timely manner. (KNS)
