Sajad lone slams Govt over JKAS Age-Relaxation ‘Confusion’

Says CM must Give written clarification

Says CM must Give written clarification

Srinagar, Dec 6 (KNS): Jammu & Kashmir People’s Conference President Sajad Lone on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the government over the delay in clearing age relaxation for JKAS aspirants, accusing the administration of creating “unnecessary confusion” and failing to issue clear written orders at a crucial time for thousands of candidates.

Speaking to reporters, Lone said the government has mishandled the entire process, leaving aspirants uncertain just days before the examination.

Criticising the Chief Minister, Lone said key decisions affecting youth cannot be communicated through informal statements.

“The CM’s chair is a responsible position. It cannot be run through press bites and tweets. If the government had cleared age relaxation or taken any decision, it should have been put in writing,” he said.

Lone added that while the CM suggested the delay was from the Lieutenant Governor’s side, the LG’s office clarified through a tweet that the file had already been sent back on December 2. “If both sides are saying different things, where is the written proof?” Lone asked.

Expressing concern for aspirants, Lone said the delay has deeply affected thousands preparing day and night for the examination.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

“These are hardworking children with dreams. They deserved clarity, not ambiguity,” he said. “Even in the past, such confusion existed. Why is nothing ever put on record? A simple written order could have resolved this entire issue.”

Lone said that instead of verbal appeals to JKPSC to postpone the exam, the government should have issued a formal written directive.

“If the CM wants the exam postponed, issue a written order. If he wants age relaxation, issue a written order. Why rely on appeals and public statements?” he asked.

Calling the ongoing ambiguity “unacceptable,” Lone said the handling of the JKAS issue reflects a larger governance failure.

“There is so much confusion in a matter that affects the state’s future bureaucracy, our top cream. If this process lacks transparency, what message are we giving to the youth?” he asked.

Lone said the government must immediately clarify the status of the age-relaxation file, the reasons for delay, and the next steps for the exam.(KNS)
