Srinagar, Jan 13 (KNS): People's Conference chief Sajad Gani Lone condemned the profiling of mosques and imams as a "shocker" and "punitive overstretch", warning that it poses a grave security risk by alienating Muslims.
In a post on X, Lone as per news agency (KNS) said "The profiling of mosques, Imams is shocker to say the least. Yet another example of punitive overstretch. India is a secular country. And collectively branding of a religion as suspect is dangerous."
He acknowledged potential security concerns but stressed: "There can be security issues.

PC Chief highlighted the sacrifices of Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir Police, stating that "95% of those rendered sacrifices and laid down their lives for their country" in the fight against terrorism were Muslims, despite both Hindus and Muslims serving in the force.
"Will someone go to their graves and whisper into their ears, that the mosques they went to pray are being profiled?" he asked. (KNS)
