Srinagar, June 20 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference President Sajad Lone on Friday appealed to the authorities to shift jailed Hurriyat leader Shabir Shah to home custody, citing his critical health condition and the need for urgent medical intervention.
In a post on social media platform X, Lone wrote, “Shabir Shah Sahib is very, very ill. He is suffering from life-threatening ailments which need medical intervention and in all probability, surgery.”
He emphasized the importance of allowing Shah to be with his family during this difficult time. “The best way would be to involve his family. The JKPC leader said he has known Shabir Shah for decades and respects his personal commitment to non-violence. “I may not agree with his political ideology, but he has always believed in non-violence. He will always be dear to me,” Lone wrote.
Making a direct appeal to the Lieutenant Governor's administration, he said, “It is my humble hand-folded request to @OfficeOfLGJandK to ideally facilitate a home custody until his medical issues are sorted out. The least we can do is to have his family around him.”(KNS)
